
Overview
As an experienced litigator, Paul Marino assists corporate clients with complex commercial disputes, including utility, franchise, contract and construction matters. He also provides counsel on and litigates shareholder and consumer class actions. His corporate clients include utilities, manufacturers, franchisors, and financial institutions.
Paul, chair of the firm's Fiduciary and Probate Litigation practice group, also represents individuals and corporate fiduciaries in contested trust, estate and guardianship matters.
In addition, Paul defends lawyers and law firms against malpractice and related claims in state and federal courts. Clients have included individual transactional lawyers and litigators, as well as regional and international law firms.
Paul has held many leadership positions at the firm and within the broader legal community. He is the managing partner of the firm's New Jersey office. Paul is also the former chair of the Federal Practice and Procedure Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
Paul has shown a strong commitment to pro bono work. He is the former chair of Day Pitney's Pro Bono Committee and captain of its pro bono program, serving as court-appointed attorneys for allegedly incapacitated persons in guardianship proceedings in New Jersey. Paul has participated extensively in the Bet Tzedek Project, which assists Holocaust survivors with applications for reparations from the German Government. In recognition of his efforts, he was the recipient of the New Jersey State Bar Association's Pro Bono Award for 2013, amongst other awards.
