Day Pitney Welcomes New Environmental Partner Todd W. Terhune

Todd W. Terhune has joined Day Pitney as a partner and Vice Chair of the firm's Environmental practice. He was previously a partner at Scarinci Hollenbeck. Terhune is based in the firm's New Jersey office.

"Todd is a well-established and successful environmental lawyer who has the skillset, client base and approach to practicing law that will blend seamlessly with our firm," said Elizabeth C. Barton, partner and Chair of Day Pitney's Environmental practice. "He will further strengthen our environmental capabilities up and down the East Coast and beyond."

Terhune is an experienced environmental partner with a wide-ranging practice that includes ISRA compliance, water and wetlands, worker health and safety, environmental insurance, site remediation, environmental permitting, environmental cost recovery, environmental regulatory compliance issues related to real estate and business transactions or resulting from regulatory action, and environmental due diligence. Terhune assists clients with a wide range of environmental issues in transactional, regulatory compliance, and enforcement matters, and he routinely engages with and appears before the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). He has advised clients with projects throughout the U.S. Prior to becoming an attorney, Terhune was both an environmental engineering consultant and licensed Professional Engineer that focused on environmental due diligence, soil and groundwater contamination assessment, environmental permitting, and landfill gas assessment and control with several engineering firms, including SCS Engineers, HSA Environmental, and The Louis Berger Group, Inc.

"I am excited to join Day Pitney's deep bench of real estate, land use, and environmental attorneys, expand the depth and geographic reach of the services that I can offer clients, and work with attorneys across Day Pitney's offices and practices to assist clients with environmental matters," said Terhune.

"With his strong experience in environmental law, Todd will make an excellent addition to our firm," added Thomas D. Goldberg, Day Pitney's Managing Partner. "We believe his deep knowledge base will be invaluable to our clients as they navigate various environmental issues that can impact their real estate and business operations."

Terhune received his B.S. from Widener University and his J.D. from Widener University Law School. He clerked for the U.S. EPA Office of the Regional Counsel in Philadelphia during law school and is admitted to practice in New Jersey.
