Withers Life Sciences IP Team Joins Day Pitney In Boston

The arrival of Boston-based IP partners Christopher Cowles, Ph.D., and Richard Emmons, Ph.D., along with associate Erica Fishel, Ph.D., was recently featured in Law360.

“Adding Chris and Richard is a game-changer for our patent practice,” stated Intellectual Property and Technology practice chair Carrie Webb Olson.

Specializing in biotechnology and academic institutions, Dr. Cowles provides counsel on IP strategy, including patent prosecution, portfolio oversight, due diligence, and freedom-to-operate evaluations. Dr. Emmons focuses on global patent strategy and IP portfolio management, advising companies and investors—ranging from private equity to hedge funds—on due diligence matters.

Dr. Cowles commented: “We are delighted to join an experienced and dedicated team of intellectual property lawyers within a firm that is interested in growing its life sciences practice on a number of fronts, including not only intellectual property/patent, but also corporate and other deal flow/deal-adjacent work in the life sciences sector.”
