"Why do senior women leave the profession and best practices to retain them? What changes/innovations are necessary for women to work and thrive in the legal profession?", Connecticut Bar Foundation Symposium
Day Pitney Environmental Partner Kirstin Etela, participated in a panel discussion titled "Why do senior women leave the profession and best practices to retain them? What changes/innovations are necessary for women to work and thrive in the legal profession?" on October 17 at the Connecticut Bar Foundation Symposium. The program brought together legal professionals to reflect on the history of women in law and to consider how structural changes such as hybrid workplaces and non-equity partnerships can strengthen retention and foster greater career balance.
The discussion also highlighted critical issues in the profession, including the impact of bias and discrimination, the challenges of balancing practice demands with family responsibilities, and opportunities to better support women in advancing and excelling in law.
