To Compete or Not To Compete
Day Pitney Litigation Partner Mark Romance was recently featured in Politico discussing Florida’s newly enacted CHOICE Act, which extends the duration of noncompete agreements from two to four years for employees earning between $80,000 and $150,000, with an exemption for healthcare workers. The law has drawn significant attention due to its potential impact on employee mobility and multistate enforcement.
Commenting on the legal implications, Romance stated, “There's going to be battles down the road whether these agreements can be enforceable where employees work in multiple states, and I see that as a very interesting avenue of litigation.”
