IP Legal Assistant
Position Summary
Work with a fun and collegial team in the growing IP practice group. Provide administrative support to a Partner, Associates and Paralegals in the Patent Prosecution and Counseling Group (PPC) and the Trademark, Copyright, and Transactional Group (TMCX) across multiple offices. Some IP experience is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide the following general administrative support to Attorneys and Paralegals across multiple offices
- Expenses
- Engagement Letters
- Attorney Bar Memberships
- Assistance with CLE and industry events, i.e., registering for various events held by bar associations and / or other organizations
- Arrange client dinners, lunches, coffee meetings
- Update Calendar(s) and Contacts
- Answer multiple, busy, telephone Lines, sending messages, transfer calls; connect to long distance calls.
- Travel Arrangements
- Draft and revise correspondence and documents as needed.
- Reserve conference rooms, visiting offices, update security lists
- Organize team meetings
- Create New Business Intake memos (high volume)
- Coordinate with Office Services to ship and track original documents
- Provide the following assistance with routine prosecution tasks:
- Draft routine reporting letters and status reports to clients
- Draft routine status inquiries to foreign agents
- Assist with special projects as requested by Attorneys and Paralegals
Knowledge and Abilities:
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proactive, upbeat, positive attitude and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Effective verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to work independently, and know when it is appropriate to ask for guidance as needed
- Adept at law firm practices with ability to interact efficiently with the firm’s internal administrative departments
Compensation & Benefits
This position offers a compensation range of $75K to $85K annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications. Staff may also be eligible for discretionary year-end bonuses and annual merit-based increase.
