"Collective Wisdom: Modernized Data Identification and Collection Strategies," 21st Annual Georgetown Law Advanced eDiscovery Institute

On November 15, Discovery Counsel Ashley Picker Dubin spoke on a panel, "Collective Wisdom: Modernized Data Identification and Collection Strategies," at the 21st Annual Advanced eDiscovery Institute hosted by Georgetown Law.

In this session, participants explored the evolution of data identification and collection strategies in modern workflows. Collection types were categorized, ranging from attorney-guided to targeted and full-scope collections, including methodologies, such as search-term collection and self-selection; and their meanings were clarified. The session examined the practical implications of the "trust but verify" approach and the technological solutions that support it. Additionally, it addressed the contrasting dynamics of in-person versus remote data collection, highlighting the unique challenges posed by hybrid workforce/device environments. Strategies for enhancing efficiency and reliability in modern data collection practices were discussed.
