"Decision Making Beyond Bias," Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara, Court Wide Training Day
On October 13, Retired Chief Justice Richard A. Robinson of the Connecticut Supreme Court, and partner at Day Pitney, was the keynote speaker for the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara, Court Wide Training Day at the Santa Clara Convention Center. The event brought together judges, court staff, and court leadership for a collaborative learning experience centered on the theme: “Decision Making Beyond Bias.” The theme underscores the Court’s dedication to recognizing and addressing bias as a critical step toward fulfilling its mission: to serve the public with fairness, integrity, and respect for the rule of law.
Retired Chief Justice Robinson focused on the influence of bias in judicial and administrative decision-making. He also lead a breakout session with judicial officers for a more in-depth discussion on inclusive leadership and equitable decision-making practices.
