Day Pitney's New Jersey Real Estate Team Secures Approvals for Kushner Companies' Livingston Redevelopment Project

Day Pitney represented Kushner Companies as land use counsel in connection with its redevelopment of stale assets in Livingston, New Jersey. The project involved the redevelopment of the former Westminster Hotel and adjacent office building on Route 10 into two apartment buildings totaling 280 units, including a 20 percent affordable housing set-aside to meet the township’s evolving housing needs.

As land use counsel, Day Pitney played a key role in navigating complex municipal and legal processes. Real Estate, Environmental, and Land Use Practice co-chair Craig Gianetti represented Kushner in this matter and was assisted by Counsel Amanda Curley, which included intervening in Livingston Township’s Third Round affordable housing declaratory judgment action, negotiating a settlement and zoning changes, and securing site plan approval before the local planning board.

Craig and Amanda’s role was highlighted at the recent groundbreaking ceremony, and the project was featured in Real Estate NJ Magazine, click here for the full article.

This marks another successful collaboration with Kushner, a longstanding client with a national real estate portfolio spanning multifamily, commercial, and mixed-use assets.
